Join us at City Garage May 16th at 7:00pm for a special reading of new works from the Writers Workshop at City Garage. Scenes from seven different new plays: two sisters in conflict with their mother over her unhealthy relationship with her AI companion; in mid-19th century China, a driven artist and his model locked in a battle of wills over the masterpiece she has inspired in him; a couple in a campground, newly romantically involved, intrigued by a deserted tear-drop camper parked next door and out to solve the mystery; an English diplomat in post-war Japan—a pioneering voice in gender-fluidity—facing charges of treason; a 14 year-old boy during the civil war in El Salvador gets drafted by force and spends five years fighting a war he does not understand; faded movie stars from Hollywood’s Golden age, living in a retirement home, put on a production of “Midsummer’s Night Dream” and try to untangle their own romantic mismatches; in the tiny village of Loch Lochy in Scotland, a 78-old widower claims to have seen Lizzie, the less-famous sister of Nessie, and sets off on a journey to prove her existence to his estranged son—as well as his own worth.

Door open at 6:30pm. Admission is free.
